Copying files and folders between phone and PC

To copy files/folders from PC to the phone

  1. Connect your phone to the PC.

  2. Copy the file or folder you want to move to the phone.

  3. In Windows Explorer, go to Portable Devices, and double-click your phone’s name.

  4. Browse to the phone subfolder where you want to copy the file or folder.

  5. Paste the file or folder in the phone subfolder.

 

Note:

When copying copyright-protected files (for example, music tracks you have obtained from Nokia Music Store or from Ovi Music) from a PC to your phone, use a USB cable connection, and select the Media Transfer mode from the phone when connecting the USB cable. Then use Windows Media Player to synchronise the files into your phone.

To copy files/folders from phone to PC

  1. Connect your phone to the PC.

  2. In Windows Explorer, go to Portable Devices, and double-click your phone’s name.

  3. Browse to the phone subfolder where the file or folder that you want to copy is.

  4. Copy the file or folder.

  5. Paste the file or folder in your chosen PC folder.

 

Tip:

You can also use drag and drop to move files and folders between your phone and the PC. To refresh the phone contents view select View > Refresh or click F5.
