Working with folders

  • Phone folders

When you connect a new phone to your PC, a phone folder is created for it automatically. Select the phone folder to view information about the phone and to move to the phone’s internal folders and files. A new folder is created for each connected phone.

The phone folder has the same name as your phone. The default name is in the form ‘Nokia xxxx’.  You can rename your phone in Nokia Phone Browser or by clicking Settings > Rename phone in the Nokia PC Suite main window.

  • Phone subfolders

Phone subfolders are read from your phone when the phone is connected to the PC. You can copy files from the phone subfolders to your PC folders and vice versa.

In addition to the phone memory, a memory card and mass memory are shown as phone subfolders if they are available in the phone. Note that not all phone models support memory cards or mass memories.

Note:

The background images that are preset on your phone can be seen in the phone’s Graphics folder. Also ringing tones that are preset on your phone can be seen in Nokia Phone Browser, but cannot be opened or copied on the PC. With Symbian phones you can only view images and ringing tones that have been downloaded to the phone.
