Sorting and filtering contacts

You can sort contacts and apply filters to them in several ways either in the detailed view or in the thumbnail view. To change the view, select View > Show details or View > Show thumbnails.

Tip:

The default order for displaying contact names is first name first. For instructions on how to change this, see Modifying contact settings.

 

To sort the contacts in the detailed view, do either of the following:

  • Click the column header of your choice. For example, to sort the contacts in alphabetical order, click the Name column header.

  • Click the arrow on the column header and select the sort criterion from the popup. For example, you can sort and group contacts according to name, phone number, email, or company name.

 

To sort the contacts in the thumbnail view, do the following:

  • Go to View > Arrange by, and select the sort criterion from the popup. For example, you can sort and group contacts according to name, phone number, email, or company name.

 

To remove the criteria from use, select View > Filter by > Clear filters.

Sorting and filtering contacts
