Overview

Nokia Content Copier allows you to back up your phone’s contents on a PC. You can back up the entire contents, or select what you want to back up. Backing up regularly helps you to avoid losing important data. You can restore the contents to the same phone model from which the backup was originally made, or import the contents to another Nokia phone model.

You can select which content types to back up or restore. Possible content types include:

  • Contacts from the phone memory. If you have contacts stored on the SIM card only, first copy them to the phone memory to include them in the backup. For detailed instructions, see your phone’s user guide.

  • Calendar and notes.

  • Messages (text messages, multimedia messages and emails).

  • User files from the phone memory, hard disk or memory card depending on what is available in your phone. User files include images, videos, music and user documents. Large files may slow down the backup process. To avoid this, delete any unnecessary files from your phone, for example, files that you have previously saved on the PC.

  • Settings. The settings available depend on the phone model that you are using. Typical examples are applications, the radio and profile settings.

  • Internet bookmarks.

When backing up your phone contents, the content types available depend on the phone model that you are using. When restoring a backup file to the same phone model from which it was originally made or importing a backup file to another phone model, the content types available depend on what the backup file contains and which content types your phone model supports.
